The
experience of their members, the prestige of their career and
the recognition of critics and audiences alike make up the
architecture of Ensemble
Gaudí, which has achieved a string of successful performances in
different international music festivals. The programs, marked by
contrasts and demanding technique, include works that, though
little known among general audiences, are of undeniable quality,
because of their attractive, spell-binding language.
The main formation of Ensemble Gaudí is the trio of flute, viola and
piano, integrated by flutist Sofía Martínez Villar, violist Joan
Fèlix and pianist Isabel Fèlix. However, they also perform works
in duet and the group is expandable up to quintet depending on
the repertoire, including other instruments such as violin, cello, harpsichord
or piccolo.
In order to collaborate towards the promotion of compositions, Ensemble Gaudí
completes their performances with a task of musical analysis that is published in
the program
notes that accompany the concerts, score reviews and specialised music magazines.
Recent activities include the opening in 2009 of concert series
"Concertante" of the Universitat de Barcelona and the VI edition of the international music festival "Concerts de Mitjanit" Sitges -concert recorded by Catalunya Música-, premiering the work
Goyescas of Elisenda Fábregas. In 2010 they participated in the concert series of the ESMUC with the collaboration of violinist Catalina Reus and cellist Erica Wise,
and in the summer Festival Mas i Mas at La Pedrera in Barcelona. |
